On The Bright Side of Things

Oh the difference a day makes!

Just yesterday, I was basking in the sunshine in downtown Charlotte Amalie, St. Thomas. Yet today, I’m sitting by the window waiting for some heavy rain to subside, in hopes of celebrating “National Beach Day” on my beloved island.

It seems like it was just yesterday when myself and so many were trying to locate loved ones after the devastation of two consecutive, category 5 hurricanes. It was heart warming to walk through the passages of Main Street as well as the waterfront and see the amazing progress that we have made.

To see greenery and foliage like this made me happy … as it is a clear indicator of the environment’s ability to naturally restore itself.

Headed to Cafe Amici for lunch!

It’s the little things. I had a quick pitstop on the way back to the car and couldn’t help but sit here for a bit and take in the sound of the water fountain.

When in town, dinner at The Greenhouse is a must! We went for calamari and a spread of seafood. It’s always a great vibe!

After all that happened during hurricane season last year, I’ll take listening to the rain in the company of my loved ones (as we await another day of sunshine) any day. Perspective.
