Summer to Fall Self-Care
So if you’ve been following me on Instagram, you know that I am just recently joining the “fall is coming!” movement. Summer is still here and I am trying to enjoy every single minute of it. In fact, while I’ve admitted to finally being excited about the upcoming season change, there are a few summer essentials that I will not let go of. Wellness and self-care essentials, that is.
Today I am featuring a few must-haves that sparked my self-care summer regimen into overdrive or had me looking forward to treating myself to more and more each month (sweet scents and all). Each one is so good, that I have to carry them over into fall!

Eve Milan New York The Lacial Masque
If I could sum up this mask in one word, it would be HEAVEN!
I was introduced to this Black-owned skincare line at the #PrettyPowerfulYou day conference, hosted by Christina Rice, CEO & Founder of OMnoire, Necole Kane, CEO & Founder of XOnecole and Lashell Wooten, Life Coach and Author. After a full day of inspiration, vision boarding and networking, I walked away with a name-drawn raffle prize including over $700 worth of products and goodies; and the Lacial Masque was, by far, one of my favorite products in the stash!
Being that I have normal-to/oily skin, I was excited to know this oil-free mask is great for all skin types. It dried in a decent amount of time and removal was exceptionally easy, with a lukewarm rinse. As described by Eve Milan New York™, the Lacial Masque™ helps to restore and protect the skin’s moisture barrier preventing dryness, irritation, wrinkles and breakouts.” It left my skin soft and glowing, without the irritation caused by some masks (hours later or the day after).
Eve Milan New York™ is “a natural, high performance skincare line created by experienced Esthetician, Eden Gilliam that’s designed to restore confidence back into your skin so you can wear makeup because you want to, not because you have to.” For more information or to shop their entire skincare line, click here or follow them @evemilan.ny on Instagram.
HERpothercary
I’m an island girl, no doubt. Give me a colorful palette and a delicious scent, and I am all smiles! But soap though? Absolutely!
Herpothecary is a fine line of herbal soaps and body products, created by Founder & Herbalist, Maya Johnson. I was introduced to her products at the second installment of the “Find Your Light” summer series in Georgetown where she showcased an array of her eccentrically curated soaps ranging in a variety of scents. With women’s health and health awareness at the center of her company’s mission, I was inspired to learn more about her brand and to try the products myself.
From creamy soap bars to whipped soaps, with custom names like “Island Gyal” to “MCM” to “Etiquette” (a Marc Jacobs Daisy inspired scent), Herpothecary completely changed the bath & body game for me this summer. My absolute favorite is the “Peach Pineapple Papaya” bar which yields a rich lather and has a long-lasting scent throughout the day.
Just recently, Maya shared a sneak peak of her fall collection on Instagram and all I can say is, if you love honey, you need to check her out! The quality is amazing and options are endless. I can’t wait to stock up on some more. But in the meantime, I will be enjoying the rest of my summer stash!
You can find Herpothecary popping up every first Sunday (12-6PM) at “The Spice Suite” or directly @herpothercary on Instagram.
Dr. Teal’s Lavender Epsom Salt & Soaking Solution
We’re all out here trying to live our best life right?
Well for me, that means also taking time to unwind and regroup from the everyday hustle. When I can’t get to the spa, I turn home into an oasis. A little candlelight, some jazz and a hot lavender soak is serious competition for a high-priced spa. Anyday.
My go-to this summer for the latter component was Dr. Teal’s Epsom Salt & Soaking Solution in Lavender. Unlike other Epsom salt products, this soak consists of finely granulated crystals that dissolve immediately, with no abrasion during my bath. It also yields a rich lavender scent that isn’t overtly saturated or too heavy. It leaves my skin feeling soft and my mind+body relaxed.
Who doesn’t want that all four seasons. Grab a bag or two for yourself here and indulge!
GUCCI Bloom Eau de Parfum For Her
“Gucci! Gucci! Gucci!”
As I am not a fan of floral scents, Gucci’s “Bloom” has converted me over to the floral-loving masses. It’s infusion of jasmine and tuberose reminds me of a fresh floral bouquet with a subtly that makes me wanting more. Strangely enough, it even gives me a vanilla vibe from time to time, depending on the temperature.
Edgy yet soft, it has long-lasting wear and goes a long way. I went through a rollerball ($34) in less than a month and had to snag a bottle for the rest of the summer. I simply adore this scent! Available at Gucci and most department stores, but I shopped mine here
That’s it for my “summer to fall self-care” staples! Each will be in heavy rotation come fall season.
I hope that you are able to try them out for yourself. Happy “Wellness Wednesday” and thanks for visiting!
A dose of style and inspiration for living!™
With love,
Rú

Gonna get me some of that Dr. Teal’s Epsom salt. 😁
Epsom salts are the absolute best whatever the season!! Will definitely be checking out Herpothecary too!!
Yes indeed! Thank you for stopping by!
I have never heard of any of these products, but the herpothecary soap looks almost good enough to eat – so I can just imagine what it smells like! I have never tried a facial masque, and wonder if it’s beyond time to do so!
Yes I totally agree! That’s exactly how her new coconut+milk+honey has me feeling. Lol yummy! I don’t think it’s ever too late. Please share your finds/choice of mask when you do!
All of this sounds so amazing!
These all look like great products! I’m still curating a list of my faves for fall! I love the soap here.
