Fashion, Fun & Friendsgiving

The leaves were a glorious sight of autumn at its peak, the air was crisp and two fashion-loving friends were ready to kick off an exciting Thanksgiving week, creating new blog content in the heart of Washington, D.C.

*intro interrupted. cue the transparency*

I’m not sure what was happening with my tilted head pose (above) but I’m going to chalk it up to the direction of two adorable little guys, who stood behind their dad, as he took this pic of my blogger friend, @lmarkeinparis, Editor & Chief @clutchyourcloset blog.  You should’ve seen their hilariously cute nonverbal cues to get it right.  Haha!  I’d say that we did because I absolutely love this photo!

Their dad … he was the real MVP.  He just walked up to us (out of nowhere) and offered to snap pics with my camera like he was booked for a blogger shoot.  *chuckles* Meanwhile, his wife and kids looked on giddily in admiration of “dad’s” generosity and kindness.

Yes luvs …  ‘tis the season!

On another note, “Operation Thanksgiving 2018” is in full swing!

An integral part of my game plan was pulling all of my fall looks for the week, ahead of time.  “Why?” you might ask.  It’s simple.  Saving time saves us money!  Lately, I’ve been able to refrain from buying pieces that I don’t need or already have (something similar to), buy planning my looks ahead of time.  Additionally, this week is about spending time with family and creating memories, so the more time that I can save, the time I have to actually indulge in what’s most important.

Today, I’m sharing this comfy, casual fall look and much more.

While we’re chatting about saving money, let’s talk about these over-the-knee boots by Christian Soriano for Payless.  I grabbed them in both chocolate brown (featured here) and black, at under $60 each.  Roomy, comfortable and perfect for a variety of outfits, these beauties will leave you wanting more and leave your boot-loving friends and family drooling over them.

Even better, they’re currently on sale and I’ve got the details.  Keep scrolling …

If you’ve been following my blog and on social media, you already know that I love good fix.  That is, I love receiving new style fixes from my StitchFix subscription stylist.  About once a month, a new surprise of seemingly perfect curated pieces arrives at my door with the option to select only the pieces that I want or to keep it all.  And these jeans were a keeper!  Just enough stretch to let a girl live her best life in great denim wash.

But before I go, I have to ask … wh doesn’t love a good olive hue during the fall season?

This chic, long sleeve relaxed seamed from the Prologue Collection at Target is one of my favorite fall wardrobe pieces.  An oversized roomy fit, it can be dressed up or down. I love the high neckline, drop shoulders and the center seam and streamline stitching.  I’ve worn it with jeans, skirts, trousers, and more
