12 Days of Christmas: Something New + Curvy Holiday Glam Haul + New Year Sale

12 Days of Christmas: Something New + Curvy Holiday Glam Haul + New Year Sale

Happy New Year FLLS Fam!  I hope you had a wonderful transition over into the new year and this next decade.

New year.  New comfort zones!  Just before New Year’s Eve, I stepped out of my comfort zone and tried something new as a blogger … a full-on clothing haul!   Some of you might be wondering what a haul is, what it entails and why I’m deeming it as such.  Well … in this creative/blogger space, there’s not much time (depending on your decided niche or the lack thereof) for content that takes time to create.  I add emphasis to the word “create” because that specific step in the process does not include editing or completion (in other words creating content can sometimes be a process).  But when you have a great time doing it, it never feels like work.

A clothing haul is when a blogger or influencer obtains a range of clothing items or accessories from a particular brand and creates a videos (or blog content) with the items to share with their community (www.scrunch.com).  I had such a great time curating these looks and am so excited about bringing more fashion/style vignettes like this to you.  Let me continue by saying “thank you!” to each of you who direct messaged me or commented on Instagram about the photos below.  I really appreciate it!  Each outfit now has one or more items on sale, so it’s time to answer all the inquiries I received about where you can shop for one of your own … before they’re gone.  Let’s go!

I’m often asked what size I wear in clothing and to be honest, it varies so often.  It ultimately depends on the brand, the style and the cut.  But over the past two years my weight has fluctuated anywhere between sizes 8-12.  I like to think that I carry the extra weight well but when you’re clothes are uncomfortable, it’s not easy to carry the burden of a bad fit.  And so, this holiday season, I explored the party shop collection from Forever 21 + Forever 21 Curve, just to see how much their styles would complement all these curves.  Spoiler alert:  I absolutely loved everything!

Forever 21 did not disappoint!  I got each of the featured pieces in Size 0X  (yes that’s a real size) which is one size larger than an XL, but smaller than a 1X.  A size 0x is 2 inches larger than an XL and 2 inches smaller than a 1X.  I usually purchase Forever 21 items in a size L. But I really wanted to see what their “Forever 21 Curve” collection was all about.  So I chose 0X being the smallest size from their plus size range. Some say that a size 0X size helps those girls stuck between the largest regular size and the smallest plus size.  All in all, I was very satisfied!
