My Final Four: Style Recap

My Final Four: Style Recap

Hello FLLS Friends!

In moving forward with the launch of Faith, Love, Life & Style, I’m bringing you a special throwback of my top four looks from February!  Believe it or not, I am still receiving messages and inquiries about pieces from each of these four looks and just had to do a quick feature for my followers.  💗 Last month was so transformational for me and it provided lots of inspiration for various upcoming projects this spring.  I’ve been hard at work, and in the process, I’ve accumulated lots of great content to share with you!

Last month, I aimed to capture four looks that depicted my personal style … that also highlighted activities I engaged in more frequently during February.  In other words, last month was LIT!  My days were packed with all things arts & culture, romantic nights on the town, impromptu fun with the girls and my outfits were right on deck and ready to follow.

Join me as I take it back …

Look #1    Date Night: “Dinner & The Theater”

A die-hard lace fanatic and lover of romantic, ultra-feminine styles, I opted for a solid tone piece in a vibrant tomato hue that spoke to me primarily through its lace detailing and sleeves.  Lightweight and roomy, this piece is super comfortable and fell at just the right length.  So whether worn with heels, boots or ballet flats, it’s a dress that can be worn all-year round and can be styled a variety of ways.  I paired it with some sassy fringe heels, versatile 2-in-1 fringe earrings, gold accents and a lovely hand-sewn custom clutch (I made myself) in a vibrant, African geo-print fabric.

Look #2   Girls’ Night Out: “Extended Happy Hour”

Real talk. I rarely go out for happy hour anymore.  But when I do, simply love to play up my 9-to-5 look with dramatic accessories that I won’t usually wear to the office.  I absolutely loved this cute sheath and its lace bell sleeves … for work (insert nude pumps, pearls and my Louis Vuitton tote).  But when the girls called  for a “ladies night,” out came the ombré metallic stilettos and sequins chain clutch.  Had to tell the cab driver to meet us at the corner of “Pretty in Pink” and “Sparkle & Shine. Ha!

Look #3   Sunday Brunchin’: “Hello Weekend!”

Fun fact!  Sunday brunch is spiritual.  It gives me added life and needs no motivation for consideration.  However, it had been some time since my last brunch outing (my January birthday brunch maybe), so I was ready.  I called this look “playful boho chic.”  I still cannot get enough of the cute fringe clutch and these knee-high boots have been my biggest fashion score during the cold-weather season.  Did someone say spring, though? 💐👀 I am ready for brunch dates in warmer temps and I’m sure this clutch will be attending.

Look #4    Gallery Crawl: “Arts & Culture”

From the National Museum of African American History and Culture, to the National Portrait Gallery, the Smithsonian Institution makes living in the DC metro area so worth the while.  There’s always another exhibit to see and so much culture and history waiting to be discovered.  Last month, I was able to visit about 5 exhibits and I’m really hoping to top that number this month. *insert spectator stance* Get into it …
For this look, I wanted to go for one that was sophisticated yet comfortable. Wide leg trousers have always been a favorite and these scored high on my list because of the roomy pockets. A bright hue mixed with a beautiful Kinte print made the perfect statement! I added a splash of gold (earrings and my arm party) and anchored the look with black accessories (pumps and clutch).
Kimono wrap: Check out these two options here and here
Wide-leg pants: Similar pair linked here
Blouse: Red/Green Kente linked here
