I’m Marú, a proud native of St. Thomas, U.S. Virgin Islands with a love for all things fashion, beauty and style. I am a self-proclaimed tea lover, cupcake connoisseur and planner addict who enjoys cooking (trying new dishes), working out, all things home decor and DIY home improvement. I also love changing up my look (my hair to be exact). A tech and intellectual property lawyer by day, I am also a STEM advocate for entrepreneurs, innovators and inventors. My entrepreneurial spirit as a business owner also lends itself to this area of my life, with ongoing opportunities to inspire children to pursue their own entrepreneurial dreams (win-win). In 2014, I launched an online boutique business, as an accessory stylist, to help pay my way through law school — and eventually expanded the business to personal styling, product styling, brand marketing and content curation.
After my father passed away in 2017, I took a step back from my business to focus more on my own self-care through meditation and journaling … which ultimately heightened my interest in creative writing and blogging. While building my brand as a lifestyle blogger and through networking, I’ve met some amazing entrepreneurs, fellow fashionistas and inspiring creatives. It is my hope that my blog offers inspiration to you while adding a little joy to your day when you visit.
