Dealing with Rejection | Be Ready For Your Time | It’s A New Season

I don’t know who needs to hear this but I’m just strolling through to remind you that “REJECTION is God’s PROTECTION.”

Over the weekend, I received an email stating that my application for a major move was denied. Denied because an approving officer failed to sign it in time. Nothing else required, just a signature. My first response … numbness. Next response … carrying on with my day because I could feel frustration and disappointment beginning to take over. Then, a few minutes before making a few calls to my support system, it all came down. And instead of trying to keep it all together, I just let it flow. In this moment, I was reminded of three important things that should be constantly affirmed:

1. What’s for you, is for you and what’s meant to be will be. No one and absolutely no can stop that.

2. Rejection is not only protection, but it serves as redirection (even confirmation) that we could and should be investing time and energy into our ourselves (our own brands and businesses) and other opportunities we may have overlooked.

3. Everything, and I mean everything always comes full circle. Be ready for that moment when it comes!

Flash forward a few days. Yesterday marked the first day of a new chapter, as I started a new position in my full-time legal career. After a huge blow to my spirit regarding one area of life, I am super excited to begin this next chapter and have found the key to finding a better balance. That is, I am freely acknowledging the pain and frustration that comes with low moments (for the purpose of growth) while unapologetically celebrating the great moments (to maintain a persistent spirit). Like the good saying states, “when one door closes, another one opens.” But in this season, I won’t let the things I want distract me from the things I already have.
