Convos with Claire – Fashion Spice Brunch

Last weekend, I stepped out on the town for the return of “Conversations with Claire” and embarked on an exciting, informative and inspiring experience at the first installment, of “Fashion Spice Brunch!”  The invitation was open to all fashionistas, creatives, bloggers, entrepreneurs, business owners and the like.  The attire was something fierce!  Summer sequins to be exact.  The discussion … well, you’ll have to keep scrolling to hear more about that.

But first …

I love a good sequins fit that sparkles and shines from a mile away.  However, I wanted to go for a soft and muted pallet this time.  So I opted for a matte pink sleeveless body-con dress, layered with a floral kimono (that’s been on heavy rotation lol), layers of gold accessories and baby blue block heel sandals.

I had the pleasure of attending with my godsister and childhood friend, Kirsten Brunn (@infifinitely_me), Owner and Designer @infinitelymejewelry.  As children, we would play dress up on the weekends, as our mothers got together to design and sew their own garments.  It used to be the perfect girls’ day out with my mom.  So attending this event with Kirsten was both inevitable and nostalgic.  Both fashion lovers and women entrepreneurs, it was  the perfect girls’ day out in DC!

We delighted in an absolutely delicious buffet brunch stirred up by Chef Tobias of The Victory Chefs and toasted to new partnerships and collaborations with mimosas and flutes of rosé.

During the panel discussion moderated by Nicaila of Side Hustle Pro, Fashion Spice Brunch co-hosts, Claire Sulmers and Angel Anderson, Owner of The Spice Suite engaged attendees in enlightening conversation about running a digital age business and offered helpful and meaningful tips for creating fresh and captivating content, knowing your audience, tailoring and curating your social media to that audience,  how to increase your engagement and the importance of DM’s for business.

The floor was opened for questions from the audience and the ladies informed and schooled us beyond my expectations.  It felt like a ladies’ retreat in some instances because the energy was awesome and the vibes were great.

The floor was opened again but this time … for dancing!

We wobbled, snapped pics and wobbled some more.  What a time!

Claire wore a striped sequins jacket and shorts duo from Audacious and Feral adorned with jeweled Gucci sandals.

I have been following Claire Sulmers since she launched her Fashion Bomb blog several years ago and am continuously inspired by her sense of style, confidence and her approach to life balance. So attending her events are added inspiration, up close and in person.

Here’s a flashback to the last “Conversation with Claire”hosted in Georgetown, DC last spring.  In this moment, I honestly felt like we had met before.  She is truly the BOMB … such a go-getter yet so genuine and down-to-earth.

This time around, I was even more excited to mingle with other fashionistas and spent what felt like hours shopping at the onsite vendors. Before I knew it, it was just about time for the event to end.  So it was only necessary that I capture a pic with the lady of the hour … Claire herself.

It was such a well curated event and such an amazing time!  I absolutely loved the energy and love shown from both co-hosts, Angel Anderson and Claire Sulmers.

As if the experience of attending weren’t enough, days later, I wake up to see that I was featured on Fashion Bomb Daily for their blog post on the event.  Yassssssss!
