BlogHER Conference Day II

BlogHER Conference Day II

Day 2 of BlogHER was all about learning more, making final connections and casual comfort.  Yet while first impressions were primarily made on the day 1, several “blogger babes” didn’t hold back on the style for BlogHER’s closeout.  Me?  Well I went for a simple, casual chic look that turned quite a few heads and, to my surprise, started a few fashion-focused conversations.

The venue (Pier 17 NY) had windows that were absolutely breathtaking.  Tons all of the natural light shone in throughout out the day … so much so, that you could find bloggers of all types catching selfies and photos in the windows throughout the day.  Guess who joined in? Ha!  During some downtime, I was able to strike a quick pose and catch some of the natural lighting.

Throughout they day, there were so many unexpected surprises and lots of highlights that I didn’t anticipate.   So I was grateful for the fluidity and casual comfort that jeans tend to yield.  For example, having an opportunity to stop and chat with someone my favorite blogger like , Dayan Bolden (@daynabolden) on the L and Courtney Quinn (@colormecourtney) on the R.  To be comfortably dressed in jeans, a cute top and some heels was the timely because my nerves (and my sweat glands) were on out of control.  Lol!  The nervousness did last too long because both ladies were so sweet, authentic and personable.

It was also great to loosening up from the look and feel of a suit and just have fun girl time.  And that I did!  Here I am snapping a pic with my amazing conference buddy and blogger friend, Ashley (@incouragefoods), center.

Caught here, taking it all in after an amazing day of inspirational panels, blogger workshops and content creation sessions, in a soft polka dot knit top and the most comfortable skinny jeans (that I’ve purchased in a while).  For the jeans, I aimed for a worn but not distressed finish in a vintage blue denim.

Polka dots are a classic and always on time, so I went with this black and white play on the knit tee, that features a tie-front hem and flutter sleeves.  Sophisticated yet playful.  For my shoes, I went with a pair of floral jacquard-like fabric sandals that were comfortable enough to take me from morning sessions to an impromptu evening happy hour at my hotel (stashed flats on standby).  Lol!

To finish the look, I layered on some retro-inspired, mirrored sunglasses in a lavender hue, a black oversized tote and blush tones for my makeup.  On my way back to my hotel, I was super excited to see that my makeup lasted all day.  The day couldn’t have been any more perfect!
