Happy Sunday FLLS Fam!

After weeks of procrastinating and avoiding this DIY home decor project, I am finally happy to say that I got it done! Rather, that I actually got it started. Now my creative wheels are spinning and the former part-time residential/interior painter in me is ready to go over it (hand painting) one more time for a more personal touch. In fact, I’m absolutely sure that I will be. Lol!

But before I share the video, here are a few fun facts, details and the inspo behind this project. You won’t believe this ya’ll!

A Few Fun Facts

I purchased this piece 17 years ago from one of @target Global Bazaar collections and couldn’t get enough it. After law school (2015), it didn’t fit in my moving truck to DC. So I left it with a neighbor, who kept it tucked away in his garage. Six months ago, I called to him and his family to share that I was moving again, to Atlanta. They said “girl, come get your cabinet!” LMAO!

The Inspo Behind It

Flashforward to now – I knew I still loved it. But I desperately needed a change of tone for my modern neutral aesthetic. I found some extra black spray paint and got to work. But what my old neighbors didn’t tell me was that the doors were slightly damaged at the track. No problem. OPEN CONCEPT, it is. For now.

What’s Next …

Moreover, the wood drank up all my spray paint. So I’ll be going back to my old days of painting homes and finishing this piece to perfection (in a black semi-gloss). I guess this was really just a base and an opportunity to set the tone. Painted doors and more curated home decor are soon to follow. I LOVE IT!!!
